Recently, 2023 China Aeromodelling Design Challenge Finals took place at Changsha Campus of NUDT. At the opening ceremony, six skydivers landed in the center of the venue with flags. A salvo of 20 model rockets and splendid model airplane performance was greeted with a big round of applause. The 2023 CADC attracted nearly 1500 competitors from universities and senior high schools across the country.
China Aeromodelling Design Challenge is an aerospace research event that combines technological innovation, engineering practice, teamwork and competition. It is the only event in China that combines the design, manufacture, flight and control of aircraft for university and high school students.
Since its setup in 2004, it has been held for 20 consecutive years, attracting more than 100 thousand students from nearly 170 universities. Now, it has developed into one of the world's three top competitions for university students in the field of aerospace research.
