There are three teaching and research sections under the Department of Management: Management Science, Management Engineering and Defense Acquisition, and Public Administration.
The department offers the master and Ph.D. program and the post-doctoral research station of Management Science and Engineering, two additional master programs (Administrative Management and Technical Science and Management), the MPA program, and the undergraduate program of Management Engineering. The first-category discipline of Management Science and Engineering is the Key Discipline of National Higher Education, and the discipline of Military Management is the key construction area of the 2100 Plan.
Currently, there are four professors, nine associate professors, five Ph.D. supervisors, 15 master supervisors, and 11 faculty members with Ph.D. degrees.
In the past three years, the department has published over 10 monographs and textbooks and over 300 theses in official journals, including nearly 50 SCI/EI/ISTP indexed papers. Over the last twenty years, the department has won one award for National Scientific and Technological Progress, and nearly 20 ministerial scientific and technical achievements. The department is now responsible for over 20 research projects with groups including the National Natural Science Foundation, the MPA Education Center, and the Professional Certification and Training Center of International Project Management. The philosophical and social science innovation base of Defense Acquisition Management is part of the second stage construction of the 985 Project of the university.
Our team of faculty members keep pace with the development trends of management science and engineering and demonstrate excellent teaching and research qualities. The discipline has established an integrated support environment of teaching and research, which comprises the innovation base of the national 985 Project, research laboratories and teaching laboratories. The construction of the 985 Project Innovation Base of Defense Acquisition Management, which includes the virtual coordinated environment of defense acquisition is a leader in China. The department has specialized teaching laboratories of Information Systems and Management, and Information System Integration.
The department has promoted network academic exchanges and online teaching activities, which enhances the sharing and application of our disciplinary resources. The department actively explores effective means of academic exchange, developed mechanisms of cooperative research and co-education for graduates with renowned institutions at home and abroad, and effectively promoted academic exchange both at home and abroad.
