The station of the first-category discipline of Electronic Science and Engineering at the College of Electronic Science and Engineering was approved by National Post-Doctoral Administration Committee and established in 2003. The discipline has four second-category discipline PhD programs: Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology, Circuit and Systems, Microelectronics and Solid Electronics, Physical Electronics. The station has developed such research areas as microwave and millimeter-wave technology, electromagnetic characteristics of target and environment, microwave interference and anti-interference technology, modern microwave system and CAD technology, information acquisition processing and circuit technology, computer vision and intelligent information processing, medical electronic engineering, and ultra-large scale integrated circuit and system design.
The first-category discipline currently has two national experts, seven PhD supervisors, nine professors, and 20 associate professors. The discipline boasts the largest tight time-domain field microwave anechoic chamber in China, the national second-class measurement center, and a number of advanced scientific research facilities including the measurement and analysis system of millimeter wave target characteristics. Ever since the 1980s, the discipline has completed more than 200 research projects including 863 projects, weaponry and equipment projects, weaponry maintenance and transformation projects, won two third prizes and two fourth prizes of National Invention Award, six first prizes and 19 second prizes of ministerial scientific and technological progress, and published more than 400 papers in academic journals at home and abroad in the past five years, among which more than 100 have been indexed by SCI, EI, and ISTP.
